I'm trying to drink a "gluten free" micro brew. It's supposed to be an Amber ale but it tastes like fucking shit. What kind of communist bull shit is this?
Edit: I had to switch to Heineken it's that bad... God damit

Which one is it? I've tried a few gluten free brews out of curiosity as I have a friend who loves to drink but has Crohn's.
I'm always on the lookout for beers that we can drink together, and would also like to be aware of ones to avoid.

Unless you're actively allergic, it's pointless to avoid it.

It was totally by chance, had choice between bud, bud light, Amstel, Heineken, Miller and this shit. Saw micro brew and figured it was the best bet, boy was I wrong...

Well, we all have from time to time. In the meantime, I shall raise a Sam's to your future fortunate finds, if not your current one.
My own edit. Just read your edit. Wow, that IS bad!

That I'll remember, because I do enjoy me some cider, and my little sister claims eating gluten free helps with her skin (is that even a thing? Does that help eczema?). This is also the sister who claims she communes with the dead, fresh out of college with no job, so I take everything she says with a grain of salt. A few weeks back she said, "My audio is finally coming in", and I thought she was taking about a car stereo or something. Nope, dead people's voices.

Yeah, they're pretty important to the fermentation process, I can't imagine what it tastes like without it.

Omission by Widmer Bros. Brewing.
Most people can't tell the difference. The Ale (blue package) is the best.

I'll withhold judgment until I can taste it, however you can't call something beef stew if it doesn't have beef in it...

I had some reservations about trying Eel River, since it's all hippyish and organicky. But I was greatly rewarded, and now keep several sixers around at all times. Trying everything is the best rule where beer is concerned.

I liked Omission quite a lot; I didn't know if was gf until after I'd started drinking.
Also, I'll be sure to stay away from New Planet, then, haha.

It's brewed almost exactly like a normal beer. Enzymes are added after brewing to consume the gluten. Kind of like Lactaid. They probably have to tweak the recipe a bit due to the addition of the enzymes. But it's the best we've tried so far. They have a Lager, an Ale, and an IPA.
The Lager tastes the most different from a non GF Lager. Maybe because there is not enough flavor in there to mask the result of the GF process. The IPA has the bitter push and a decent bouquet but is not quite as good as a mediocre IPA. But then again, I'm not the biggest IPA fan. The Amber is a real NW Amber.
